Transmitter
At this moment we have available a tiny model of transmitter sizing 8mm x 5mm and weighing only 0.2 grams. We are in process to increase the specifications of our transmitters, first improving the battery life and then building new models that suit all kind of animals.
The current specs are the following:
- <400mg all inclusive weight with smallest available battery
- Dimensions from 9 x 5.5 x 3 mm unencapsulated (with smallest battery, excluding whip antenna)
- On smallest battery runs 25 days nominally at 55 pulses/min
- Larger battery gives longer run time
- Tracking ranges of 1 to 2 km on the ground, and up to 7 km in the air with transmitter at tree height and clear line of sight. Distances increases with the use of larger antennas, antenna boosters and higher vantage points
- Activated by soldering two protruding wires. Reed switch model is activated by a magnetic switch and is 30-40mg heavier
- Powered by 1.55V silver oxide batteries
- Supplied in glue-on configuration as standard
- Can be implanted with whip antenna
This tiny model we have developed is suitable for use with small animals like butterflies, moths, beetles, and more.
